Recently I held a workshop for people about how to get a better night’s sleep. We all know the importance of how a good sleep makes us feel. So what is stopping us? And what can we do about it?
All participants were given a workbook and we went through it and answered as individuals – what would work for each of them?
At the end of the workshop, people volunteered what they were going to try at home that would suit their lifestyle. A few days later, quite a few of the participants told me that their sleep had improved already!
For example, some had reduced their fluid intake in the evening, reducing the need to get up and go to the toilet during the night; others had reduced their alcohol intake in the late evening which helped them sleep better; and others did the deep breathing exercise to help get them back to sleep.
